LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS

In the spirit of “Not recreating the wheel”, it is our desire to continue to partner other black-led organizations, groups and businesses to increase their visibility and bring community members to the resources and services they have to offer.

BLACK FOOD SOVEREIGNTY COALITION

“Built on a decade of work of founding members of the Black Food Sovereignty Council and other Black-identified leaders and stakeholders in the Pacific Northwest, the BFSC mission is to ignite Black and brown communities to participate as owners and movement leaders within food systems, placemaking, and economic development.”

COALITION OF BLACK MEN

“We are Black Men who represent various professions and life experiences in the Portland Metro area. We work to empower our people through advocacy, education, and community programming. Our three main objectives are: Fostering bonds among Black men, serving the needs of Black youth, and improving the quality of life & economic development in the Black community”

IMAGINE BLACK

“Imagine Black helps Portland’s Black community imagine the alternatives we deserve, builds our political participation, and supports leadership to achieve those alternatives. Imagine Black envisions a world where people of African descent enjoy the rights, resources, and recognition to be a thriving, resilient, and connected community.”

MELANATED SISTERHOOD

“Melanated Sisterhood of Portland is a small social club in Portland. Its aim is to strengthen and empower its community through educational events and gatherings.”
